The red of Jiangque is chromium in corundum. Pigeon blood is a narrow hue: a pure red with very little orange or purple, high saturation, still transparent inside. Burma and Mozambique can both reach it. Origin is not an automatic premium; zoning, inclusions and heat are. We do not call every ruby unheated. Heat is written when it is there.
Cushion and oval cuts keep the colour intact. Prongs stay thin so red arrives before gold.
